Help with Court Costs and Web Site

Recently I put out a call for help with my legal defense fund and the this web site. Thanks to those who've contributed. Thanks largely to a contribution from a memorial fund set up by colleagues of mine in the transit business two years ago, as well as a change in the in the web site billing that significantly cut the cost, we're extending this web site for another two years!

But I am still accepting contributions for my legal expenses. On August 22 I appeared in a Fairfax, Virginia courtroom to face charges I trespassed on the property of the NRA headquarters. Fortunately the charges were dismissed, but I still had to hire an attorney and appear in court, spending over $2,000 for travel and legal representation. While I was aware of the consequences of his actions, I believes it was not simply an individual act. It was an act of civil disobedience, necessary to call atention to the fact that the NRA turns a deaf ear to America's questions about gun violence and gun policy. For that reason, I am requesting assistance from those who agree.

If you would be willing to contribute to the legal defense fund, please send a check to our newly established post office box. Make your check payable to Tom Mauser. These contributions are not being made for a charitable purpose, so therefore are not tax deductible. Send contributions to:

Tom Mauser
P.O. Box 621846
Littleton, CO 80162-1846

If enough is collected for this purpose, I'll end this call for contributions. I recognize that some will criticize this request for help, saying I should pay for my own legal and web site costs. I have learned there will always be detractors and critics. In the end, it is up to the reader to decide.
